SLEEP OUT TO KNOCKOUT HOMELESSNESS                                                                                                                Hosted by Matthew's Light                                                                              Join Us on October 10th - World Homeless Day

An international day to raise awareness about the homeless crisis and support efforts to combat it.Matthew’s Light invites churches, schools, colleges, businesses, and other organizations to host a supervised Sleep Out—an impactful opportunity to unite your community in action, raise awareness, and support those experiencing homelessness.

How It Works:

Registered participants will secure sponsors to support their Sleep Out. On the night of the event, participants will arrive with only the clothes they are wearing—no extra blankets, pillows, or personal items—providing a glimpse into the hardships faced by those experiencing homelessness. The event will begin with an orientation about homelessness, sharing key statistics.Participants will then go through an outreach distribution line, similar to those Matthew’s Light provides on the streets, receiving a meal and basic provisions before settling in for the night.

The next morning:

A group discussion will provide an opportunity to reflect on the experience, share insights, and discuss how they can continue to help the unhoused neighbors in our communities. Why We Do This WorkAt Matthew’s Light, we believe:Faith requires action. Jesus calls us to serve "the least of these" with love and compassion (Matthew 25:35-40).

Awareness leads to change.

By stepping into the reality of homelessness, participants gain a deeper understanding and a heart for service.Every person deserves dignity. Our outreaches seek to not only meet immediate needsbut to restore hope and create pathways to a better future. How You Can HelpIf your organization is ready to make an impact, contact Matthew’s Light today! Together,we can shine a light on homelessness—one night, one experience, one step toward change.
